Maravu’s friendly staff will meet you at Taveuni airport just after a 75-minute flight from Nadi over pristine coral reefs and rainforest mountains, and only 5 minutes later the Maravu magic begins. You will be welcomed with a complementary fresh iced coconut drink, beautifully decorated with tropical flowers.

The setting of the Resort is spectacular and you will share it with a maximum of only 40 other guests. Accommodation
Our Planters Bures are four Bures in two Duplex Units. The rooms are completely separate with own entrance, verandah, bathroom and just one joining wall. The Duplex units have an interconnecting facility, which is ideal for a family with children having their own room. The maximum occupancy for each Bure is 3 adults or 2 adults with two children under 12 years. Garden view. Distance to the private Maravu Beach is 4 - 5 walking minutes.

Three of our Bures are Deluxe Bure with both, an inside and an outside shower, Jacuzzi and in addition to the sun deck a covered verandah. Two of the Bures have Oceanview. The maximum occupancy for this Bure is 3 adults or 2 adults with two children under 12 years. Distance to the private Maravu Beach is 3 - 5 walking minutes.

Another five Bures are Honeymoon Bures with a private stone walled courtyard containing the outside shower and a Jacuzzi. This Bure type has both, an inside and an outside shower and in addition to the sun deck a covered verandah. The maximum occupancy for this Bure is 2 adults. All three Honeymoon Bures have Oceanview. Distance to the private Maravu Beach is 3 walking minutes.

Our top Bures are the Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and Oceanview Spa Villas. Four Honeymoon Deluxe Suites with two rooms each, one sitting/lounging room and one sleeping room. The private open-air courtyard contains an outside shower, a sun deck and a spacious Jacuzzi Pool with waterfall. The verandah consists of a covered terrace and a large open sun deck. The maximum occupancy for this Bure is 2 adults. Bure # 14, 15 and 16 have partial Oceanview and Bure # 17 has Gardenview. Bure # 17 has in addition to the outside shower an inside shower and a separate toilet. Distance to the private Maravu Beach is 4 - 5 walking minutes.

Last but not least, four Oceanview Spa Villas with two rooms each, one sitting/lounging room and one sleeping room. The private open-air courtyard contains an outside shower, a sun deck and a heart-shaped Jacuzzi Pool with waterfall. The verandah consists of a covered terrace and a large open sun deck. The Villas have absolutely stunning sea views from all aspects of the bure, outside shower and Jacuzzi. The glass doors facing the seaside can be completely opened by folding.

Dining & Entertainment

The MEAL PLAN consists of a full cooked breakfast with hot dishes of your choice, a three course Gourmet lunch or packed lunch, afternoon tea/coffee with homemade cookies and a three course Gourmet dinner. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Every week we invite our guests for a Fijian meke (traditional dances) and Lovo feast where the speciality food is cooked in an underground oven. After the sunset, you may want to join in with the Maravu Band Boys, sitting around the kava bowl, sharing the ceremonial drink, made from pepper root and serenading beautiful Fijian melodies.

Facilities
The library offers a good selection of books about the Fijian culture, tropical flowers and also their bird and sea life. Maravu has a well equipped Gym and in the Spa you can enjoy Fijian massages and natural Body-wraps.

Sleep on a king-size bed covered by a white mosquito net canopy. Comfortable bathrooms are standard, as is the minibar. All Bures except the Planters Bures have air-conditioning.

In the Honeymoon Bures, Honeymoon Deluxe Suites and Oceanview Spa Villas, there is an outdoor shower in a secluded setting next to the private sun deck and a Jacuzzi.

Each of the 20 Bures is well-appointed, and beautifully decorated with Fijian artwork and paintings. And, wherever you look, flowers are spread out in their full bloom, liberally adorning your tropical home.

The bures are spaced apart on our 90 acre resort, so feel the privacy around you as you relax in the hammock on the verandah. And, lest you forget time, the gentle beat of the lali drum will remind you when delicious meals are ready for you to enjoy.

All Bures have air-conditioning and ceiling fans (except the Planters Bures which have ceiling fans and floor fans), fully stocked minibar with water, soft drinks, beers, white and red wine, champagne, chocolate bars and chips. Maravu provides all bath amenities such as hand-crafted coconut soaps, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, cotton pads and bathrobes.

Activities
Maravu’s staff of more than 50 will know you by name and guide you into any activities on the Resort like horseback riding, mountain biking, croquet or Boca ball. Our activity personnel offers professional guided tours around the island. This is a secluded tropical playground for you to relax around the pool with its own little waterfall, enjoy the hilltop sunset gardens, spend a day sailing, discover the underwater world snorkelling in crystal clear waters or - simply do nothing at all.

FREE ACTIVITIES include horseback riding, mountain bikes, kayaks, snorkelling gear, guided plantation walks, croquet, bocchi ball, several times a week kava ceremony and entertainment with our houseband, weekly Meke (Fijian songs & dances) and Lovo (Fijian underground feast).

Weddings
Maravu offers special WEDDING PACKAGES to help celebrate this perfect union and create an unforgettable event. The angelic harmony of the Fijian choir and rich flower decorations will be part of a ceremony in which the bride and her beloved are escorted to their favourite place on the property surrounded by the beauty of nature. You will enjoy the option of getting married right on the beach to the sound of the waves or up on the hilltop viewpoint overlooking the ocean and swaying palm trees.

The Honeymoon Suites include in addition a bottle of champagne, poolside/garden candlelight dinner, excursion to Honeymoon Island and half day trip to romantic Bouma Waterfalls (min. 4 nights).

The Oceanview Spa Villas include in addition a Spa Package consisting of two Maravu bath robes, two Maravu Massages (25 minutes each), two traditional Fijian scalp massages (15 minutes each) and two Pure Fiji body scrubs (25 minutes each).

Two children up to 12 years, sharing the room/bure with parents, are free of charge & pay meals only.
